The Marvellous, Magical Zero Point Recipes
The basis of these zero-point recipes
below are non-starchy vegetables, made into vegetable
soups. Any non-starchy vegetable will do - you can boil
them until soft and even blend them if you like your
soup smooth. However, as soon as you add potato,
sweet potato or anything "starchy" you have entered the world
of points, so beware! Add ginger, or any of the
zero-point spices shown in the list below for some zing or
punch.
Egg whites are zero point, as are mushrooms, so along with
coffee, tea or a diet soda, a zero-point mushroom omelete
(egg whites only) could be a good breakfast now and again on your
way to goal.
Another suggestion is popcorn, which is filling and satisfies
the "snacking" habit - but be careful. Read the nutritional
information for the particular brand you have and use the points
calculator here.
The four featured Weight Watchers vegetable soup recipes are linked
below. For the underlying broth, use fat-free beef, chicken
or vegetable broths.
